Jamie was a fourteen year old boy. He belonged to a well to do family but to support his pocket money he was doing a part time job. He was a care taker of Mr Sarchy’s pet dog, Gonko. Every evening he took it for a long walk and played with it.
In this routine he had a friend too. Siny was her name. A beautiful but a strong girl, was his neighbour too. Both were like minded and used to explore new places. They went for walking, trekking, tennis playing and for water sports also.
One day, Jamie was waiting for Gonko outside Mr Sarchy’s house. There he heard Mr Sarchy’s tensed voice who was talking on phone about a project. Mr Sarchy was telling that how he and his team were getting challenges while solving a strange case in the ocean. Jamie became curious and heard everything about it.
He rushed to Siny and shared her the situation. Both planned something to go in the depth of truth. They noticed every movement of Mr Sarchy for two weeks.
Jamie and Siny listened that at a distance of hundred kilo metres in the ocean near their city, there was a dangerous section. The surface of that area of ocean was blasting everything. It became an accidental place. Many officers, boaters and swimmers lost their lives there while searching reasons of accidents. Mr Sarchy and his team were trying their best to find the reasons of accidents.
The government and the people were telling two things about the happenings in the ocean. Firstly, it was imagined that some surface of ocean was dangerous and became reason of accidents. Secondly, it was a rumour that there might be an alien attack. People thought that some space ship had come to the bottom of ocean and was killing all.
After a lot of discussion, Siny and Jamie made a plan called as ‘Operation Different.’ Jamie thought a different way to solve that complicated case. He took the opposite way of thinking.
On a Sunday, when officers working at the case were on holiday, Jamie called Siny at 4 o’clock in the morning. He carried a compass, camera, some tools & equipment, eatables, two life jackets and a hot air balloon. He brought some old toys and boxes too. Both drove in a boat, hired by Jamie a night before and moved towards the right direction.
After a long struggle they could reach around that place with the help of compass. They threw all the toys, boxes even food there which really got blasted, soon after touching the surface of water. They investigated and tried to see at bottom too but couldn’t get anything useful. Both were disappointed and thought to come again.
While returning back to the city, suddenly Jamie shouted, “Let’s go back Siny! I have a different idea.”
Siny trusted him a lot so she turned the boat at once and reached back in no time. Jamie tied hot air balloon with the boat and released the rope. The air was blowing balloon above the dangerous area but it was magical that it didn’t blast. A camera hanging to the balloon was capturing the bottom of the ocean. Jamie’s idea worked. He jumped happily.
Siny asked why balloon didn’t blast. Jamie cleared his imagination that someone might have sent harmful rays from the bottom which were working till ocean but not in the air. So the balloon’s idea worked. They were successful in taking video also of the bottom.
After watching the video, secret of case was solved. There was a huge submarine in the ocean. It was marked with the neighbouring country’s mark. Both were very excited to find out the truth. They wanted to share the solution of the case to Mr Sarchy and the Government with proof. It was an emergency for their country. At one side, government was thinking it an alien attack which was actually a neighbour country’s dangerous aims.
Jamie and Siny were called with their parents and proofs at President’s office.
All were surprised at the ‘Operation Different’. They appreciated bravery of both the teenagers. Their experiment of hot air balloon to avoid ocean’s surface and tying camera for video was mind blowing. Because of them only they could catch the real enemy.
Jamie and Siny got many awards along with educational scholarships to study further for adventure and investigation.
Sometimes fresh thinking with different angles are enough to climb mountains bare feet.
