Though Ahana was a confident girl but she was a little nervous on the first day of her college. She passed her High School with good grades. Many friends of her were also joining the same college.
But the reason of her anxiety was that it was a co-educational institute.
Ahana studied in a Girls’ school since starting so she was comfortable with girls’ company only. She used to avoid boys as she was hesitant with them. In her views, boys were to make fun of others. She thought that boys were unpredictable and rude in behaviour. She was very calculative and manipulative at that.
Only Kabir was sensible enough to talk to Ahana. He was her classmate. He always supported her when others laughed at her.
Luckily, both became partners in a drama. Ahana denied to perform but her lecturer knew about her past achievements. She convinced Ahana to be part of Drama Competition on Fresher’s Day.
Every new student got busy in practicing, dancing, singing, making props, costumes & make-up decoration of stage etc. Ahana was still not easy with her role. It was only Kabir’s friendly attitude that she started rehearsals.
A day prior to the Fresher’s Day, Ahana brought all the papers of dialogues at home by mistaken. She made calls to Kabir just to inform so that he would collect papers and revise well. But he didn’t pick up her calls. He didn’t call back even.
Ahana became puzzled. She sent many messages but there was no reply from his side till midnight. Because of manipulations, she thought that Kabir might not come next day for drama. She assumed that all would laugh at her.
At last, she decided not to go college. She cursed Kabir for his arrogance.
Next morning, all were ready with their performances. Kabir was looking for Ahana. He made many calls to her but she didn’t reply. He was worried about their drama.
A close friend of Ahana revealed him that she wasn’t coming to perform. Kabir understood everything. He used an idea and changed the dialogues of both. He had to act in the competition to save his friendship.
He requested his other friend Priya to play a role of Ahana as a deaf & dumb girl whose face was covered with a hat and net. In the scene, Kabir shared a situation where the girl’s role was to console him through actions only.
Through his role play, Kabir told everything he faced. How the previous day, his pet fell sick. He somehow reached to the doctor but it died. He lost his mobile also in the way. Later, his one close friend also got annoyed because he couldn’t meet her.
In real, Kabir started crying. His feelings and expressions were real. The audience got emotional at his actions. They started clapping for their acting. Nobody could recognize that the girl was Priya not Ahana.
Judge appreciated a lot and declared them first.
Next morning, Ahana got tired of taking wishes from all for their wonderful drama. She was surprised that her college mates were praising her for the performance she didn’t do.
After watching Kabir’s scene at her friend’s mobile she was shocked. She got tears in her eyes. She felt embarrassed at her mean behaviour.
Ahana went directly to Kabir. She apologized for her over thinking and reactions. She accepted that in real Kabir showed the true friendship after giving her credit for the role she didn’t deserve.
Kabir smiled and said, “A true friend knows.”
