The Best Birthday Blessing

When his favourite dove knocked the glass of window with its beak, it sounded like some music to his ears. He opened his eyes having sunshine on eyelashes and wishing him for his day. “Hurrah! It’s my birthday today.” A. K. shouted with excitement after Jumping on The bed sometimes, he waited for the second dove to join it’s pair and make A.K’s birthday luckier but he didn’t come.

 

A.K. got ready for school having his favourite cheese club sandwich in hands. His mother was waiting for him with keys of their new sweet small car which was first big buying of A.K’s mother from her salary. Within no minutes A.K. chose to be dropped to school by his father’s SUV. After all it was his birthday and he wanted to grab every opportunity to be in the screen. A. K’s mother had two things before he parted for school and those were his special lunch boxes with sweets and a smile.

 

Everything visible was scattering colours towards A. K. and every breath was full of fragrance. Whole day at school passed with great feelings distributing sweets among close friends. A. K. invited many of his friends for a party at home that day evening. But something was missed by him at school and that was sports period. The time of recess was insufficient to entertain him. He would have enjoyed more if they had sports period that day,  his eyes were speaking.

After all the Sun had promises of others’ too so was about to set, otherwise it was A. K’s birthday. Guests for the birthday bash started joining. Every hand was accompanied with glazed paper containing heartbeats of A. K. inside. He waited eagerly for his uncle’s gift which had happened a special one always. But the broadened smile on his face was given by Jessica’s branded expensive video game. All were enjoying hard in the party which was almost interrupted by their maid. Mannat, yes that was her name. She came to A. K. carrying the smallest gift of the world that was a Rubik’s Cube and blessed him with few words which were, “Akshat Baba! May you feel happiness in everything you receive and notice it’s values while adding your art to it.” 

 

 

First time he got blank when he got injected on his arm and on this birthday was the second time he was completely blanked. He was able to pay regards to his original name, the first dove, mumma’s car, recess of school, his every gift and the most special one, the best birthday blessing given by Mannat Kaki along with the Rubik’s Cube which was lovelier to him than any other expensive piece of metal that day.
